We all love our homes.  We put our mark on them, live our lives in them and create lifelong memories in them.  But eventually we need to sell them, and there are as many reasons for needing to sell your home as their are homes on the market.  When the real estate market becomes labeled as a “buyer’s market”, like it is now, it generally means that it is not the best time to be a seller, but that doesn’t mean that the reasons people sell their homes do not arise and that there are not excellent buyers in the market to buy… you want them to notice and buy your home.  That can be the tricky part.

Home staging has become somewhat of a buzz term used throughout the real estate market thanks to savvy realtors and even television programs but what is it exactly and how could it help you to get your home sold?  There are probably variations on how one would define staging but Pad Interiors looks at it as an essential tool that all sellers should use to help to market their home properly and effectively – ultimately leading to a mutually satisfactory contract and then the final sale.

For example, when you go to sell your car there are some things that you may do to make your vehicle look better and like it has been well maintained.  You may do an interior detailing, an exterior washing and waxing, get new floor mats and maybe even new seat covers.  Then you may even top it all off with one of those designer fragrance products to hang from the rear view mirror.  All of these efforts help to make your car look as good as it can to prospective buyers and also gives them a sense of confidence that the car that they are buying has been well liked and cared for making the transaction go quicker and easier.

Why do many people not take the same approach with their homes?  Our homes are usually the single largest investment that we have but yet many people don’t “shine up” their properties to make it more appealing to the greatest amount of potential buyers as possible.  Whether you have been in your home for just a short time or have lived there all of your life, it contains and represents your esthetic preferences and lifestyle. While that may have worked for you and your family it may not appeal to enough potential buyers to provide them with a vision of what it would be like for them to live in your home.  It is imperative to appeal to as many buyers as possible to yield the quickest and most profitable sale and home staging is an integral part to making that happen.  Pad Interiors can help you do just that!
