Who I am…
It is nearly impossible for me to walk into a room and not begin to see it’s beauty and hidden potential. Design is not something that I just do, it is part of who I am every day. It began at a young age when I was introduced to the world of interior design by my grandmother who sewed custom draperies. But as much as I loved all if the pretty soft things I would also watch episode after episode if This Old House and had my own tool station in my grandfather’s workshop. I was not afraid to get some dirt under my fingernails, and still aren’t.
When I decided to make my love of design into more than just a hobby I attended New England School of Art & Design (NESAD) where I was challenged to think conceptually and intellectually about design and was exposed to the great masters throughout history. I graduated in 2001 with my BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) in Interior Design and so began my career. I first worked in a small residential design firm on Newbury Street but quickly found that I wanted something more. That is when I entered into the specialized world of kitchen and bath design and I never looked back. Although Pad Interiors doesn’t just design kitchens and baths I truly believe that they are the two most important rooms in any house. With the intrinsic difficulty of those design projects I found myself working with clients from all kinds of backgrounds and design savvy which makes me love what I do even more. I saw that it is possible to remove the pretension often associated with interior design and offer design services for people who value intelligent, thoughtful and beautiful design regardless of their tax bracket.
This is why I started Pad Interiors.
Who you are…
I wanted to take a moment to address who you, my client, is. I consider it a mission of mine to break down the barriers of the “type” of person who would hire an interior designer and to provide true to life design services for almost anyone. I think that although our country is going through a tumultuous time one positive thing in all of this turmoil is that we have begun to re-prioritize our thought process and actions and have realized the extent of the waste that we had been creating. It is now more important than ever to make improvements to our properties to keep up their value but to make sure that they are done right. That’s where Pad Interiors comes in. We become our clients ally, working with them every step of the way from conception to completion to help make the design and renovation process as smooth as possible. We wholeheartedly believe that we can actually save our clients money by avoiding costly mistakes that can not only make a project run longer than expected but cost more. Our #1 goal is to work with each individual client to decipher their personal needs and aesthetic tastes and implement those ideals into their existing architecture for a complimentary and well thought out environment.
